Has anyone ever added your own fertilizer to the pods in order to help the tomatoes to grow/?

It is not required to add any extra nutrients to the pods. The plants will grow and bear fruits and then it’s time to start new ones.
But some have done it either way, it has been shown to prolong the plant’s lifecycle and keep the plant growing for longer time.
