I just noticed that all of the pods on my 9 pod
garden have mold on the soil. What may be causing this? Would my plants still be safe to consume?

There is always spores of fungi flying around and they are also present in our pods. It’s nature.
This looks like a harmless species of Penicillum fungi. It does not harm the plant or you. It just helps to decompose organic material.
