Basil was growing rapidly but after 1 month suddenly just stopped growing and became loosing leaf and getting more yellowish. I noticed that the roots exited the pod and are now in the water.
Hello!
Usually, yellow leaves indicate it’s time to harvest the plant as the nutrients have been depleted. But basil can live for up to three months.
That’s normal if roots have grown into water. This is a common sight growing in closed cups. Also, this way plant has better access to water.
Although I can’t tell if there’s anything else to check, because I don’t see the whole plant, but it looks healthy otherwise.
How’s it doing now?
