Is that the cup with the cuts in the side, or one of the original cups and the roots went through the wigs?

Here are roots on my Red Holy Basil. This was grown using an Experimental pod, however I am also seeing this phenomenon with Click and Grow basil plants as well (Basil, Cinnamon Basil and Lemon Basil). I have not really see this happen with any of the fruiting plants. This was using the standard cups (not the Pro Cups). You can see the roots have grown through the wicks. Admittedly I probably let this plant grow in the garden longer than I should have (about 5 and a half months now), but it has still been fairly healthly and I have gotten multiple harvests so I was hesitant to remove it. I am getting concerned that the roots may rot and contaminate the rest of my plants in the garden.
