Chilli flower bulb are turning black

Hello,
My chilli flower bulbs are turning black as well as a few black spots on the leave. Is this a plant disease or something I’m doing wrong with the watering?
Thank you!

Hello @Belle

Oh, I see. What’s your temperature there? Are you using SG3 with an extra extension arm or not?
Does it seem like all the buds are black?
Are the plants in regular cups?

It is hard to say right now what the problem is, but you can remove the darker parts of the buds and dry leaves.

Hello @Debora
Thank you for replying! The temperature in the room has been a bit inconsistent and my radiator was not working however now it should be warm enough for them. I am using one of the warm extensions that the SG3 came with and I am using the cups that it also came with. I wouldn’t say that all of the bulb are turning black but quite a few are and the others haven’t really bloomed yet. There are also some black spots on the leaves and also where the stem splits off into the branches there is a bit of blackening. I did some research and I don’t think it’s anything like thrips but I’m not sure.
Thank you!

Chili peppers are sensitive to stress from extreme temperatures, especially cold weather. If the plant experiences sudden cold snaps or inconsistent watering, the flower buds may become damaged and turn black.

Yes, it doesn’t look like a pest either.

I’d recommend removing these parts, and let’s see if new fresh flowers emerge after that.
Also is it just one plant that has these black spots?

Hello,
It’s all three of the chilli plant and most of my bulbs have dried up and fallen off. Would this still be due to the temperature changes?
Thank you!

Hi again,

That is most probably, true.

You can try changing the location of the garden or repotting the chilies.
I hope they will survive!

All the best
Debora
