Experimenting with freestyle growing

Hey all,

I am starting this thread to share the joy of the freestyle growing style in Click and Grow 25. The device or garden as you would like to call it is designed to be used mainly only for greens in a 5-week cycle. This device is best for all kinds of leaf lettuce, chards, romaine lettuce, kales, sorrels, and so on… :leafy_green: :green_salad: :sandwich:

It feels like missing out on some plants when growing only greens. So let’s try to grow other plants too, and share the tips and tricks on what works best in CG25 and what doesn’t.

Also, there seem to be a few herbs that would do well in a 5-week cycle. I can’t wait to share the results with you.

Let me know what plants you would grow in CG25 freestyle mode.

Update: All pods have sprouted in the first tray, yay. Dill leaves were almost touching the transparent lid, but it was time to add a new tray. It seems to me that adding one tray a week is much easier than adding it all at once. So this time I added Gazania and Peppermint, in the same placement as the first tray. So three cavities for herbs and two for flowers. Seems like a good balance between different plants.

Hi, skipped some weeks, but the third tray just went in. So added new pods, Wild Strawberry and Wasabi Mustard, a wild choice.
Dill is doing great, and the flowers between it too. Dill should be ready to harvest, it’s around 28 days old now. The second tray has germinated well!

I’m really loving this 2+3 plant combo.

It’s harvest time!

Also, added a new third tray. This round Wild Strawberry and Wasabi Mustard.

Update on 23.01. I added the fifth tray with two Moss Roses and three Chives.
Also on the fourth tray - one Red Romaine Lettuce did not sprout. So, I decided to add two Moss Roses extra there too. Others growing nicely too. Looking forward to the blooms!

Update 04.02

The experiment is now 8 weeks old. Time flies, and it’s time to do the first full harvest in 1st tray, the DILL desperately needs replacing with something new. Well, not to shock you but I decided to add dill again… Dill is now 56 days old, and surprisingly well holding itself up, and meaning also literally. Though it has some help from neighboring Snapdragons supporting them.

The White Snapdragon will bloom in a couple of days. The last tray has beautiful Chives and Moss Roses coming up.

Hey, long time no see but the garden was infested with aphids.
So I had a big cleanout and tried to keep these pests off.
Hoping to start again soon..
