Hi, I’ve just received a Smart Garden 9 as a present. And am currently growing Basil, Chilli’s and tomatoes. My question is should I apply a liquid feed to the water reservoir or directly to the pods around the plants as they mature.
As the pods have nutrients which are plant specific you do not need to add nutrients or fertilizer to the water; they should have enough of what they need until the end of their life cycle. So far we have grown basil, tomatoes, peas, and many lettuce varieties with only one tomato plant benefiting from some castings applied near the roots when it was fruiting (it showed signs that the tomatoes were not maturing as robustly as we would hope).
