Opened my Smart Garden 9 and found that the plant roots had grown through the cups and into the water reservoir!
I believe the offending plant is peppermint.
Is this supposed to happen, and should I do anything about it?

Thats ok, just remove those roots when discarding plants to avoid rottening.
