A garden is nice to have… But what I Really Need is a self-watering system where I can house my own potted plants while on holiday! - and since CG do not make that (yet!)… have you tried using the CG gardens this way? I am trying…
My current issues I need help with:
not enough vertical space for bigger pots;
I’d need longer wicks to reach from my own pot to the water - can you advise if I can succeed with a different wick material since these wicks are too short? Or can I sew two wicks together somehow?..
If you know of another self-watering system that can provide light + water for 10-20 plants (to avoid buying separate self-watering pots for each plant!), please let me know! - Then I’d use CG for gardening only, and my self-watering system - for my potted plants!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. Your ideas are nice, and as a plant parent myself - I agree with these.
You could try adding two wicks on top of each other but not sure how to ensure the wicking properties, they must be tightly together for water to flow.
Different ropes can do the trick too.
I don’t know any houseplant self-watering systems that are easy to use and also pleasant for the eyes. Pot sizes can vary a lot so it’s not clear what kind of system would work the best.
But we are selling these self-watering pots and tabletop grow lights suitable for transplanting plant pods or houseplants. These are right now available only in the US market.
Thank you for showing these! I hope you are bringing them to Europe soon! These are, however, great “boutique” products for the office or for people with only a few plants - but how about the person with 20-40 plants, each with different schedules, requirements, sizes… such a person can’t leave town… ever! Even if they hire someone to come in, it is hard for this person to visit every single day for the thirstiest plants. The pain is real! And if they were to buy a separate solution for each plant, it will be very expensive… and it won’t let them use the pots they like… So I hope one day you make such a self-watering solution for all houseplants. You are halfway there already! - you’d need just to make some changes to your existing product.
