Get heating pad and thermostat?

Hi, my old stone house is too cold in the winter for most of these plants to germinate. Can I warm the system with seedling heating mat and thermostat?

I don’t see why that would be an issue. It might just take a while to warm up with the water base, but once you have that warm, it should hold well.

Most of the seedling mats they sell shouldn’t heat it up enough to cause any issues.

Hi

Usually, seeds need an optimum between 70 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit (21.1 and 26.7 Celsius).
If you have temperatures below it it can be suggested to use a heating mat.

The LEDs also produce a small amount of heat, like all lights do, but not that much to heat an area or get hot to touch.

I’m also using heat mat with my seedlings (in plastic) but not in Click and Grow gardens. Might as well try it with some seeds that need higher temperatures to germinate like watermelon.
