Lamp Arm Design Flaw

I received a 3-pod kit as a xmas present. It’s a nice little garden setup except that the lamp arm extends only about 80 percent across the pods. To me, this is a major design flaw since about half of the third pod doesn’t get much light. After a few weeks, I saw that my plants in that pod were showing stunted growth compared to the other two. So I now rotate their position every day.

These indoor gardens are touted as “Grow anything with zero effort.” Thus, I’m really baffled and bothered as to why the lamp arm wasn’t designed better so as to provide light equally to all pods. Can anyone in the know enlighten me? Thanks.
